CALL TO ORDER

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: August 11 & 12, 2008

 

PUBLIC HEARING

 

1. CUP #2007-04 – Blowing Rock Commons [Continued]

Consideration of a Conditional Use Permit request from Chetola Severn Partners, LLC for a multi-phase project that includes a 72-room hotel, 2 restaurants, 21,000 SF of retail mixed with 16,000 SF of office space, and 36 condominium units.  The proposed project is planned for the 7.28-acre vacant parcel along Main Street across from Boxwood Lodge. The property is zoned CB, Central Business. A new access road will be provided through the site between Main Street and Hill Street.  The project will include 2 levels of underground parking and surface parking to serve the hotel, restaurant, and retail/office uses. 

 

2.      Noise Ordinance Amendment (Ordinance #2008-13) - Construction

Public hearing to consider changes to construction noise hour limitations and construction on Sundays and holidays.

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

1.      Art in the Park – Location Approval (September/October 2008)

Consideration of location approval for Art in the Park during September and October 2008.

 

2.      Drought Update

Receive update on status of current drought and discuss town water conservation stage.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

1.      Oasis Shriners - Parade Request (June 6, 2009)

Consideration of a request for authorization to hold a Shriners parade on Saturday, June 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. on Main Street – sponsored by the Oasis Shriners.

 

2.      Mayview Madness - 5K Road Race (November 8, 2008)

Consideration of a request for authorization to hold the 9th Annual Mayview Madness Road Race on Saturday, November 8, 2008 – sponsored by the High Country Conservancy.

 

3.      Bids/Financing - 2008-09 Capital Equipment Purchases

Consideration of bids for two (2) police vehicles with one (1) trade-in vehicle, a 4x4 pick-up truck, a utility truck and a garbage refuse truck and financing approval for the FY 2008-09 capital equipment purchases.

 

4.      Tax Release - #2007-17

Consideration of a property tax release request per general statutes.

In deference to all who wish to speak, each speaker will be asked to limit his or her comments to no more than three (3) minutes.
