CALL TO ORDER

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: June 7, 8, 17 and 30, 2010

 

PRESENTATION – Blue Ridge Parkway 75th Anniversary Quilt Square (Ann Rhyne)

 

PUBLIC HEARING

 

1.      Establishment of Town Center District (Ordinance #2010-14)

Public hearing to receive comments and consider the creation of a Town Center District and the various code changes that may apply to the area. The purpose of the proposed Town Center District is to allow the typical retail-oriented businesses while protecting the historic character of Main Street and the downtown core.

 

2.      Rezoning of Properties from Central Business to Town Center (Ordinance #2010-15)

Public hearing to receive comments and consider a zoning map amendment to rezone several properties along Main Street from Central Business to Town Center.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

1.      Chamber of Commerce – WinterFest/Blue Ridge Wine Festival/Art in the Park Dates

Consideration of a request from the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce for approval of dates for the 2011 WinterFest, Blue Ridge Wine Festival and Art in the Park.

 

2.      Settlement of 2009 Property Taxes/Charge of 2010 Property Tax Collection

Consideration of acceptance of the Tax Collector 2009 Settlement Report and approval of an Order of the Town Board for the Collection of Fiscal Year 2010-11 Property Taxes.

 

3.      NCWaterWARN Mutual Aid Agreement

Consideration of a NCWaterWARN Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement.

 

4.      Resolution of Support for Backbone Ridge Preservation (Res. #2010-12)

Consideration of a Resolution of Support for the Acquisition of Backbone Ridge by the NC Division of Forest Resources via the Clean Water Management Trust Fund.

In deference to all who wish to speak, each speaker will be asked to limit his or her comments to no more than three (3) minutes.
